Begin the day by spending time inside The Jockey Club Rooms, a prestigious establishment that has been in operations since the 18th century. This is an opportunity to enjoy refreshments and a tour inside an exclusive member’s only club. Browse an impressive, and expansive, collection of sporting art and memorabilia including the works of George Stubbs and Sir Alfred Munnings.
Spend time on Warren Hill, the training facility for some of the world’s best thoroughbred athletes as they go about their daily exercise. Every day, the spectacle of the town’s 3 000 equine residents going about their business is something to savour.
The Hearts Racing Valentines Tour will include a stop over at the yard of one of Newmarket’s top trainers, James Fanshawe. Here you will be able to experience the daily routine, explore the stables and be introduced to the horses in the famed Pegasus Stables. Learn about the yard routines, feeding regimes and see the facilities on offer. This is the perfect opportunity to ask questions and be regaled with tales of memorable wins and Newmarket happenings from a trainer who has enjoyed success at the highest level.
From there you will be driven to one of the area’s leading restaurants, The Packhorse Inn in Moulton for a sumptuous three -course lunch. Why not add in a few bubbles and really make it an occasion.
After lunch you will be escorted to one of Newmarket’s leading Thoroughbred Stud Farms where you will enjoy exclusive access with a tour of the grounds and you will be able to meet some of the top stallions.

09.00-09.30 Arrive at The Jockey Club Rooms for light refreshments. Your Discover Newmarket guide will meet you inside the Rooms. Parking is available on site and you will be able to leave your car here for the day.
09.30-10.15 Explore the prestigious members’ only club, the Jockey Club Rooms, where you will learn about the illustrious history of The Jockey Club and the sport of Horseracing.
10.15-11.00 Visit the world famous Newmarket training grounds to see some of the 3,000 Racehorses in training go about their daily exercise.
11.00-12.00 Go behind the scenes at Pegasus Stables, the yard of James Fanshawe. Your trainer or their representative will give you a guided tour giving you the chance to explore the stables, be introduced to the horses, learn the yard routines, feeding regimes, see the facilities and get your questions answered.
12.15 – 14.15: Your guide will then transport you to the award-winning Packhorse Inn in Moulton for a scrumptious three-course lunch.
14.30 – 15.45: After lunch your tour guide will take you to one of the UK’s leading Thoroughbred Stud Farms. You will enjoy exclusive access with a tour of the grounds and get to meet some of the Stud’s top stallions.
16.00: Tour ends, return to your cars.
