The Easter Holidays are nearly upon us and whether you’re looking to keep the kids entertained, or just looking for things to do yourself over the bank holiday weekend, there are plenty of Easter activities in Newmarket to keep you amused.
Below we’ve put together a list of suggestions for Easter activities in Newmarket:
The National Stud is the only commercial thoroughbred stud farm in the UK that allows members of the public behind the scenes. Guided tours offer a unique insight into the art of breeding a thoroughbred and right now is foaling season, so there couldn’t be a better time to visit!
Tours run twice daily from Saturday 1st April to Monday 17th April and what’s more, you can take advantage of a special family discount.
Why not do something extra special on Saturday 15th April by joining us on our Short Head Tour. This popular half-day morning tour takes you to explore the legendary Newmarket Gallops, behind the scenes at a working trainer’s yard, then finishing off with a guided tour of the fantastic National Stud.
This brand new facility has to be seen to be believed. Not only can you explore the rich history of horseracing in Newmarket and beyond at the museum, but you can also browse one of the finest collections of sporting art at Palace House, meet real live thoroughbreds in the Rothschild Yard, and try your hand at the racehorse simulator!
On top of all that, from 1st to 18th April you can take part in Palace House Bingo! Hop around the 5-acre site to find clues, then once complete, hand them in at reception to win a chocolate Easter egg!
However, arguably the best part is the value for money. Entry for a family of 6 (2 adults and 4 children) is just £40 and is valid for a whole year!
If you’re looking to get away from it all and explore the open countryside, then this is the perfect activity for you. After 1pm every day, once all the thoroughbreds are safely stabled, the 2,500 acres of gallops that surround Newmarket are open to the public allowing you to roam for miles in beautiful unspoilt countryside. The perfect way for the kids to let off some steam, or for you to get a few moments‘ peace!
Hopefully above there are plenty of suggestions of Easter activities in Newmarket to keep you amused. For more information call 0344 748 9200 or click here.
