World Host Training
Free funding opportunities, provided by the Visitor Economy Network Initiative (VENI) administered by West Suffolk College, are now available for small and medium tourism businesses. This is a huge opportunity to train new and current staff and is part of a county bid to raise the level of customer service across the tourism and hospitality sector and ensure that all our visitors receive a friendly and professional welcome. You can find out more about the project here.

TXGB – Online Booking System
Discover Newmarket is working with Visit Britain’s online booking platform, TXGB in a bid to become a bookable destination and make it easier for visitors to plan their visit. TXGB is an online booking system which enables a range of tourism businesses to promote their services as bookable products across a number of platforms. It doesn’t matter whether you have your own booking system or not, or whether you currently connect with other booking platforms already. TXGB can either set you up with a free and simple booking system or integrate with your existing one. You then have the opportunity to decide which platforms (OTAs – Online Travel Agents) you would like to make your product available to. You can be assured that commission rates are low with the added benefit that fees go back into the local economy to support and serve the tourism sector.
It also provides additional promotional opportunities for both domestic and overseas markets.
