British Food Fortnight runs from 17th September to 2nd October and is the biggest annual national celebration of British food and drink, the perfect time to eat local in Newmarket.
Here in Newmarket, we are extremely lucky to have some of the best local produce right here on our doorstep. With this in mind, we have put together a run down of some of our favourite places to eat local in Newmarket.
The Pantry, Newmarket
This fine food shop and eatery is built around showcasing the very best of East Anglia’s produce. Whether you’re shopping from The Pantry’s jam-packed deli shelves, or eating at the open-kitchen restaurant, it’s guaranteed to be fresh, flavoursome and local.
The Packhorse Inn, Moulton
The Packhorse Inn is the only restaurant in Suffolk to have been awarded 3 AA Rosettes and with a firm focus on the freshest local produce, this fantastic eatery is a perfect way to experience the delicious flavours of Great British food.
The King’s Head, Dullingham
The King’s Head in Dullingham is passionate about innovative dining. It sources the best available seasonal produce from local suppliers in order to add a modern twist to classic British cuisine in its choice of menus.
Squires Restaurant, Newmarket
The 2 AA Rosette Squires Restaurant is based at the fabulous Bedford Lodge Hotel. Its ecclectic menus offer a completely modern dining experience and all of its suppliers are sourced within a 50-mile radius so you can be sure the ingredients haven’t travelled far.
Nancy’s Vintage Teashop, Newmarket
You don’t get much more British than traditional afternoon tea! Nancy’s Vintage Teashop is located in the centre of Newmarket and all of its delicious treats are freshly created on the premises or sourced locally.
