Although Newmarket wasn't shortlisted for the next Although Newmarket wasn't shortlisted for the next stage of the UK's inaugural Town of Culture competition, we're incredibly proud of the ambition, creativity and collaboration behind our bid.

This is just the beginning. We're committed to working with local partners to bring many of the ideas from the bid to life and continue strengthening Newmarket's cultural foundations for the future.

One lasting legacy is our specially commissioned creative postcard, produced as part of the bid and unveiled alongside submissions from towns across the country at the launch event in Liverpool, the current UK City of Culture. It will remain a celebration of Newmarket's unique identity, rich heritage and the shared vision our community has for the town's future.

Thank you to everyone who supported the bid – together, we'll continue championing culture in Newmarket. ❤️
