There is less than a week to go before we see the re-opening of some of our best loved cafes, bars and restaurants , albeit for outside drinking and eating only. Hence, with al fresco being the buzz word, we thought we would highlight some of the wonderful venues in and around Newmarket that have gone above and beyond to create inviting outdoor spaces and menus for us to enjoy. So gather friends and family, (up to six) and celebrate the art of socialising once again, whilst supporting local businesses.
The prestigious Jockey Club Rooms have adapting their terrace for Open House lunches on a range of Saturdays & Sundays from the 24th April. Numbers are limited so don’t delay in booking your table over looking the superb manicured lawns. Click here for more details.
Perfect for leisurely lunches in the sunshine, al fresco drinks and evenings spent under a canopy of fairy lights as the sun sets. Table bookings are now available for their covered Spring Garden from Wednesdays through to Saturday. Click here to book.
The Spring Garden theme is also available at the sister pub and restaurant, in nearby Moulton. The sheepskin rugs that proved so popular over the winter months, are back if needed, but hopefully they won’t be required and the sun will shine as you enjoy a coffee, a wine, a snack or a meal as all are available to relish in these wonderful surroundings. This boutique hotel in neighbouring Ely, is gearing up its courtyard to welcome you for champagne and cocktails and to sample their Sonnet Garden menu with wonderful sharing platters on offer. This secluded garden, is a stone’s throw away from the city centre, making it the perfect place to relax after a trip to the shops or a visit to the magnificent Ely Cathedral.
