Newmarket will celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III and Camilla, the Queen Consort, on Monday, 8th May 2023—a special Bank Holiday in honour of the Coronation and an amazing moment in our history.
Newmarket has a proud history of hosting wonderful community events that provide lots of family fun and entertainment. Located on The Severals, the event, organised by Newmarket Town Council, will run between 1 pm and 7 pm and include a number of activities including:
The Games Arena: a colourful fun-filled family arena with up to 9 giant and garden games – 4 In A Line, giant buzzer, giant jenga, giant snakes & ladders, limbo, twister, foot pool, crazy golf, horseshoe tossing.
Fun Fair Rides: An exciting selection of rides and attractions on offer, from child-friendly to white-knuckle rides
Food stalls: You won’t go hungry with a huge selection of food stalls of hog roast, pizza, burgers, waffles, cakes, candy and a bar area.
Coronation Stage: A great line-up of performances by Mighty Macca, A Light Left On, and one of the concert’s highlights, an Ed Sheeran look alike.
Space Wheel: One of the best aerial stunt acts in the world. A spectacular space wheel performance will capture your attention—a double wheel of death display standing 50ft high, featuring real physics, extreme stunts, and mad skills. Get the most authentic and immersive 2-wheel experience.
Children’s Art Workshop: Six art professionals will facilitate an art workshop for 250 children. Once the crown is made, you can get creative with the decorations to reflect your personality. The workshop will be open and accessible to children with special educational needs and disabilities.
The Big Help Out: Several activities are planned for the day by local community groups, organisations and charities- a festival of volunteering. A spectacular event showcasing the excellent work being done by groups in the town and bringing communities together.
