Discover Newmarket – the not-for-profit tourism organisation at the heart of British flat racing – is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2025 with the release of five unprecedented, one-off, Anniversary Tours. Just a handful of lucky people will be offered rare and privileged access inside the racing world, with experiences that no enthusiast can ordinarily buy. From meeting the legendary racehorse Frankel, to taking breakfast with renowned trainer Sir Mark Prescott, and going behind the starting line of the first race at The Betfred Guineas Festival, these extraordinary experiences are destined to enchant racing and horse lovers alike.
Discover Newmarket offers year-round, behind the scenes, guided tours but the new Anniversary Tours are one-offs, going that extra mile into the heart of Britain’s historic, horseracing centre of excellence. The exclusive Anniversary Tours will be available to bid for in a silent auction released on 1st May to coincide with the BetFred Guineas Festival 2025. Each of them will be auctioned off with the exception of the Guineas Festival packages which will be prizes in an online competition. Behind the scenes at the Betfred Guineas Festival – 3 and 4 May 2025
A private behind-the-scenes tour of the Rowley Mile Racecourse with a visit to the Parade Ring, Royal Box and the starting line for the first race. Enjoy the races from the exclusive Betfred Private Box with lunch, afternoon tea and a complimentary bar. (Two people on each day).
Legendary Frankel Tour – 24 July 2025
A personal meet and greet with the legendary Frankel in a private Stallion Parade at Banstead Manor. Also included is a tour of the National Horseracing Museum and lunch at its Tack Room restaurant with Lady Jane Cecil, wife of the late Sir Henry Cecil who will share her memories of Frankel’s triumphant career. (Four people in total).
The Story of an Arc de Triomphe Winner – 29 May 2025
Enjoy a morning on the Gallops with one of racing’s renowned trainers Sir Mark Prescott before joining him for breakfast at Heath House Stables. Later they will be taken to Landwades Stud to meet Kirsten Rausing for a personal tour, including a stallion parade. Hear how Sir Mark’s and Miss Rausing’s racing partnership achieved victory with Alpinista’s memorable win at the Prix de l ’Arc de Triomphe. (Four people in total).
A Day with Godolphin – 27 September 2025
A private morning tour of the prestigious Dalham Hall, home of Godolphin’s International Headquarters, to view the facilities of one of the world’s leading sires, Dubawi, followed by an afternoon at the races with lunch, afternoon tea and drinks in the exclusive Godolphin Private Box. (Four people in total).
A Yearling’s Journey to the Bloodstock Sales – 9 September 2025
Enjoy a guided tour of the 500-acre National Stud, including a private stallion parade and learn what is involved in preparing a yearling for sale. Then go behind the scenes of the historic auctioneers Tattersalls, take lunch alongside some of British racing’s most prolific trainers, owners, breeders and bloodstock agents, before watching the action in the iconic sales ring. (Four people in total).

With 14 guides, four vehicles and 15 different types of tours, Discover Newmarket is the only organisation to offer public tours of the National Stud, trainers’ yards and the hallowed morning Gallops, giving rare access to the behind-the-scenes activity of the racing world. Tour prices normally range from £5 – £145 per person. There is something for everyone to enjoy from the avid racegoer to those with a thirst for new thrills.
