National Racehorse Week returns from 22–31 August 2026, offering racing fans and curious visitors the chance to discover more about the care, dedication and people behind the racehorses we see on the track.
As the home of horseracing, Newmarket has a special role to play. Around the town and surrounding area, racing yards, studs and equine facilities are opening their doors to give visitors a closer look at the world behind the sport.
Many of the most popular experiences have already sold out, which shows just how much interest there is in seeing behind the scenes of British racing. However, there are still some opportunities remaining locally, including a visit to Longholes Equine Therapy Centre, where guests can learn more about the specialist care, rehabilitation and treatment that supports horses throughout their careers.
Visitors to Longholes can expect to see a water treadmill demonstration, tour the facilities and hear more about the role of advanced equine therapy in helping horses recover, condition and perform at their best.
Elsewhere in Newmarket, fully booked experiences include visits to some of the area’s celebrated racing and breeding locations, including The National Stud and New England Stud.
