Christmas Lights Switch On – Friday 18th November
This annual event, organised by Love Newmarket, welcomes a host of local talent to the stage from 5pm, including a school choir from Brookes UK, dance group and musical performances from solo singers and bands.
The High Street will once again be transformed into a funfair for all ages, with local foodie businesses joining this year to offer a selection of festive delights. The lights Switch On will take place at 7pm with two nominated local heroes welcomed onto the stage to press the big button!

A Jolly Sparkly Jingly Christmas Show – 2nd and 3rd December
There’s no better way to get into the festive spirit than by joining Newmarket Kings Theatre for their annual Christmas show! Returning this year in full spectacular ‘Jolly, Sparkly and Jingly’ fashion, this is a show with something for everyone.
Brought to you by their Young Nomads, expect an all singing, all dancing selection of songs, duets and company numbers from Christmas musicals, along with the traditional carols we know and love.
So why not join them for some mulled wine, a mince pie and and a Santa’s sack-full of Christmas spirit.
Winter Wonderland, Memorial Gardens – 9th to 11th December
This year, Newmarket will have its very own ice rink! Organised by Newmarket Town Council and supported by Star Radio, the synthetic rink will be open from 10 am to 4 pm across the weekend. Ice skates will be provided. Each ice-skating session will last 15 minutes, subject to demand, and ice skates are included.
But the magic does not stop there! The snow globe is back in the Memorial Gardens on the 10th and 11th December for a photo opportunity with non other than the man himself, Santa!
The Winter Wonderland will be enhanced with indoor and outdoor Christmas markets selling locally sourced food and drink, handcrafted gifts, and a carousel for children.

Carols in the Courtyard, Thursday 15th December
Welcome in the festive season with a selection of carols and seasonal songs at the National Horseracing Museum. Lead by the Kitchen Choir, come and join us in the atmospheric courtyard where you can sit back and enjoy the festive fayre accompanied by Christmas music.
The Tack Room will be serving hotdogs and warming mulled wine, The Bakery will be open to satisfy your sweet tooth, and our museum shop will be open until 8pm.

Santa’s Workshop, Memorial Hall – Saturday 17th December
Enter the very special world of Santa’s Workshop, supported again by Star Radio. Create a decoration for your Christmas tree in glittering colours from the Santa’s Workshop collection. All materials are provided. Santa will check your creations and take a photo with you.
To top up the Christmas fun, there will be two family-friendly magic shows at 11.30am and 1.30pm to entertain children of all ages.
