Newmarket’s Adnams July Course will be kicking off its family fun programme in Newmarket with their Summer Saturdays 2018 raceday programme.
For those that have never experienced a Summer Saturday at Newmarket Racecourse, these extraordinary summer days out combine exciting racing on the track with FREE themed, on course entertainment. For the adults, there are plenty of bars and eateries, whilst the littlest members of your family can enjoy a number of themed fun.
Tickets start from just £11 for Garden Enclosure access, and children under 18 go FREE! What better way to celebrate summer?

Kicking off Summer Saturdays in gigantic style, get ready to jump back in time with the help of The Travelling Natural History Museum. Grab your archaeological hats, roll up those sleeves for sand digs, and fossil casting. Get up close and personal as you practice your dinosaur walk with Blue the Raptor at the animatronic show.
The Natural History Museum will also be joined by Zoolab; the UK’s No 1 animal handling experience and lifelong learning company. With creepy crawlies, fury friends and scaley reptiles to meet and greet. Zoolab is all about combining fun, imagination and handling in order to understand more about their creatures.
To top it off there will be a rodeo dinosaur, bouncy castles and face painters!
We’re hosting a Raceday Tour on this Summer Saturday, as well as on Great British Summer Day on the 21st July and Royal British Legion Day on the 11th August, why not book a tour for you and your friends or family to experience a behind-the-scenes look at racing where horseracing began!
Heroes Day is perfect for those little superheroes out there who long to fly and to save the day! As part of celebrating Armed Forces Day, there will be an action-packed programme with a competition and prize for the best fancy dress costume! Therefore, it is time to don those robes, and grab that mask before heading down to meet Chase & Marshall from Paw Patrol.
Say hello to the 677 Squadron and the 6 Regiment Army Air Corps who will be bringing with them their Lynx Helicopter. Then, let your superheroes take part in the Mini Superheroes Assault Course, Gladiator Duel Game and the All Action Heroes Bounce ‘n’ Slide.
Now this is a great excuse for some spiffing family fun in Newmarket! For all things quintessentially British, head on down to the course for strawberries and cream, Pimms, donkey rides, Punch and Judy Shows and deck chairs. With fantastic racing, why not come and embrace what makes this country so great!
One of the most popular Summer Saturdays is the Countryside Day. This action-packed day features free rural themed activities combined with a wide variety of country animals to say hello to. With guest appearances from the spirited and lively Bing & Flop – this Saturday will be perfect for those budding farmers and animal lovers out there.
Whether its Football, Rugby, Cricket, Golf, or of course, Horseracing. Sports Day at the Adnams Course is all about having fun with your loved ones. With a mass of sports based fun and free activities to keep everyone on their feet throughout the day including the Horseplay Roadshow which encourages learning through interactive games.
Newmarket’s annual Royal British Legion Day is a firm favourite with our families as we toast to the veterans during a moving Standard Bearers Parade. This is a wonderful opportunity to support a very worthy cause, whilst, most importantly, teaching and learning with your family about why we support the Royal British Legion.
The closing Summer Saturday is all about ‘Horseplay’. Because, let’s face it, it wouldn’t be right if there wasn’t a Saturday dedicated to horses!
Families will have the opportunity to learn together about the world of horseracing. To gain a greater insight into Newmarket’s favourite sport and why it makes Newmarket great! The Horseplay Roadshow will be on site for children to learn through role play and interactive games, as well as having a whole heap of fun!
