Garden Tours of Chippenham Park

We offer groups  between 25 and 40 people, the opportunity to enjoy a private viewing of our award winning gardens. Tours are predominately conducted during the spring/summer months on Monday-Wednesdays, priced at £32 per person which includes a two course lunch and presentation.

Your experience begins with a personal welcome by Chippenham Park’s owner, Hugo, who is a keen gardener and is only too happy to share his  beautiful Gardens with their lakes, canals and parkland with you. You will hear all about the history of the house, garden and park which dates back to the 17th century. Hugo will share his favourite parts of this extensive park and point out places of particular note  to look out for as you enjoy an afternoon of exploration.

The gardens have been awarded the highest two-star rating by the Good Gardens Guide and are notable for their vast swathes of snowdrops and aconites in late winter followed by a superb spring show of daffodils, hellebores, spring bulbs and blossoms.

Lunch is then served  in the kitchen garden (or Potting Shed depending on the weather) and varies depending upon the season. We try to source as much from the kitchen garden itself as possible. We grow all our own vegetables and salad crops and as many culinary herbs as we have space for. We also produce our own free-range pork – sausages, bacon, and hams as well as  our own free-range hen eggs.

A typical lunch might be homemade quiches, green salads, tomato and basil salad, warm new potato salad with fresh chives and mint, cucumber and dill or grilled courgette salad, our own sausages or smoked hams. Normally a cheeseboard and fruit to follow. When in season our own strawberries and raspberries. You can buy wine by the glass or bottle if you wish.

After lunch you are provided with a map and are welcome to explore and enjoy the gardens at your own pace for the remainder of the afternoon.
