The Packhorse Inn

Revitalised and reopened in October 2013, The Packhorse Inn overlooks the green in the picturesque village of Moulton just outside Newmarket. The Inn was renamed to reflect the adjacent medieval bridge across the River Kennett. Inside, the local connections continue with the four house rooms named after the hills surrounding the village and the four ground floor rooms reflecting local river names.

The Packhorse Inn is the bringing together of a number of strands to create both a traditional pub at the heart of the local community and a Suffolk tourism destination for a truly stunning dining and staying experience. It was the first to open in the Chestnut Inns stable, founded by former banker Philip Turner.

The Packhorse Inn, caters for all tastes, from the affordable fixed-price menu, through to the à la carte, which delivers smart, contemporary dishes full of vibrant flavours.

The menu is best described as Modern European and is prepared with passion, integrity and originality by a talented brigade led by Chef Phil Skinner.
