The Under Starters Orders Programme is a community schools project targeting Year 5 pupils (9-10 years) at Primary Schools in and around Newmarket. It is an opportunity to introduce children to the horseracing industry. Enabling them to gain an initial understanding of the benefits the industry might hold for them in the future. Delivered by Racing to School and supported jointly by Godolphin and The Jockey Club it encompasses visits to four different venues across three individual days giving children an opportunity to see behind the scenes at The National Stud, The National Horseracing Museum, Newmarket Racecourses and Dalham Hall Stud. This innovative way of learning educates the future generation to have a better understanding of the horse racing industry but also highlights the many different employment roles that the industry can provide.
