With our special Tattersalls package you will start your day with a guided tour of the Newmarket Gallops where you will see some of the 3,000 racehorse’s exercising on the heath followed by a hearty breakfast at The Tack Room and a guided tour of The National Horseracing Museum.

You will then be taken up to Tattersalls to have a behind-the-scenes tour and learn what bloodstock agents and buyers are looking for when picking a horse to bid on. You will get to see what goes on behind the scenes on your guided tour before you sit in the famous Tattersalls ring and witness the adrenaline and excitement as horses are paraded and bid on for thousands of Guineas.

8.00am – Meet Your Tour Guide

Meet your expert guide at Tattersalls’ Highflyer Café before setting off to experience one of Newmarket’s most famous training grounds.

8.15am – Warren Hill Gallops

Take a guided tour of the historic Warren Hill Gallops and see racehorses out on their morning exercise. Learn about the history of the gallops and discover why Newmarket is known as the Home of Horseracing.

9.30am – Breakfast at The Tack Room

Head to the National Horseracing Museum for a delicious breakfast at The Tack Room, the onsite café, located in the Museum’s historic King’s Yard.

10.15am – Guided Tour of the National Horseracing Museum

Explore the National Horseracing Museum on a guided tour. Set within the former Palace and stables of King Charles II and spread across more than five acres, the Museum brings the history, heritage and people of British horseracing to life.

11.45am – Tattersalls Tour

Go behind the scenes at the world-famous Tattersalls sales complex and discover what goes into buying and selling bloodstock. Visit the stable yards and see horses being brought out for inspection, while your guide explains what bloodstock agents and buyers look for when assessing a potential purchase. Then head to the parade ring to choose your favourites before taking your seat in the famous Tattersalls sales ring. Experience the atmosphere and excitement as horses are paraded before prospective buyers and the bidding begins.

You’re then welcome to stay and watch the action for as long as you like.

Please be advised that tours depart promptly at the scheduled start time so we recommend arriving at the meeting point a minimum of 15 minutes in advance.

Booking Info

The meeting point is outside the Highflyer Cafe situated within the Highflyer car park at Tattersalls. You are free to park anywhere within the Tattersalls car park for the duration of your tour.
