Ely Arts Festival kicks off with a space extravaganza concert in Ely Cathedral. Featuring 350 local school children singing, a live orchestra and professional soloists performing an eclectic mix of space themed music.
The concert will include famous film music from Star Wars and E.T., alongside songs by Elton John, Take That and David Bowie. A performance of Mars from Holst’s The Planets will add a classical flavour to proceedings. Jon Brigg, Ely Arts Festival’s composer in residence, will have a new piece premiered in the performance.
The concert will begin with a colourful parade down the nave with school children wearing space themed head-dresses, created in free art workshops provided by the festival.
Tickets: Adults £12.50. Children Free.
