National Mills Weekend

Visit Burwell Museum for a particular focus on Stevens’ Mill, Burwell’s only remaining windmill, 13 years since its major restoration.
Learn about milling and wind power, grind grain using quern stones and climb all four floors to the top of the mill and look out across the views of Burwell and beyond.
Meet members of the mill team and find out more about the history of our mill through photographs.

Mill Tours (free) need to be booked on arrival or online as we can only take a limited number of people upstairs at any one time. If you would like to see the rest of the museum then admission charges apply for that.
Extra ‘goodies’ on sale in our Tea Room.

Please note, for safety reasons, you must be at least 1.1 metres tall for a mill tour. No high heel shoes. No flipflops. No carrying children or animals up the ladders. No bags. The mill tour guide has the right to refuse access above the ground floor based on a visitor’s fitness and ability. The ladders are steep and narrow. If a visitor can not climb unaided they will be refused access.
Further Stevens Mill info here.

Free tours of Stevens’ Mill.
Entry to the rest of the museum is optional, but chargeable.
