Ben Jupp Amnesty Lecture – Geraldine Van Bueren

International rights activist Geraldine van Bueren, QC, will speak on Children’s Rights – New Global Challenges.

Geraldine is an international human rights lawyer and professor emerita at Queen Mary University of London.

She was a Commissioner on the Equality and Human Rights Commission, was one of the original drafters of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and represented Amnesty International at the UN for ten years on children’s rights.

In 2003, Professor Van Bueren was awarded the Child Rights Lawyer Award, which recognises lawyers who have done outstanding work in the field of children’s rights. She was appointed an honorary Queen’s Counsel in recognition of her scholastic contributions to national and international law.
