Come Hungry! From local food and vineyards to coastal walks, heritage and countryside adventures, Home of the Harvest invites you to enjoy more of Norfolk and Suffolk this autumn.
We’re joining in for National Sausage Week with our Newmarket Sausage Safari, featuring six local venues and their tasty sausage dishes. Find your next food stop and make a day of exploring.
Heath Court Hotel, Bertie’s Restaurant

Close to Newmarket’s town centre and at the foot of the famous training gallops, Heath Court Hotel welcomes visitors for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bertie’s Restaurant offers a relaxed setting for a meal, whether you’re staying at the hotel or dropping in.
Try their homemade sage and red onion sausage roll with coleslaw and brown sauce, or tuck into four Musk’s Newmarket sausages with mash and onion gravy.
You’ll find Heath Court Hotel on Moulton Road, Newmarket, CB8 8DY.
Nancy’s Tearooms

Just off Newmarket’s High Street, Nancy’s Vintage Teashop is a cosy spot for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea. Vintage china, mismatched furniture and colourful bunting give this independent tearoom its distinctive character.
For our Sausage Safari, try their sausage rolls or the chorizo sausage and cheese quiche on the specials board. Visiting earlier? Their breakfasts feature local Powters sausages.
You’ll find Nancy’s at 18 Old Station Road, Newmarket, CB8 8DN.
Bedford Lodge Hotel, Roxana Bar

Set in three acres of grounds beside Newmarket’s training gallops, Bedford Lodge Hotel combines a historic country house setting with contemporary interiors. Its Roxana Bar provides a comfortable place to meet for drinks or enjoy a relaxed meal.
Their contribution to our Sausage Safari is a classic: traditional Newmarket sausage and mash, served with greens and onion gravy.
You’ll find Bedford Lodge Hotel at 11 Bury Road, Newmarket, CB8 7BX.
Victor Victoria

On Palace Street, overlooking All Saints Church, Victor Victoria is an independent coffee shop serving breakfast, brunch and lunch. It’s a welcoming spot to catch up over coffee or refuel while exploring the town, with children and dogs welcome too.
There’s plenty of choice for sausage lovers, including a Newmarket sausage bap and a homemade sausage roll. You can also try their all day breakfast toastie, their 2023 and 2024 entry, or the VcMuffin, their 2025 entry.
You’ll find Victor Victoria at 12–14 Palace Street, Newmarket, CB8 8EP.
The Ickworth

Our final stop takes us a little further afield to The Ickworth in Horringer. Set within the National Trust’s Ickworth estate, this family-friendly hotel is surrounded by Suffolk parkland and offers a countryside setting for a meal.
Their venison snags bring something different to the safari. These bite-sized cocktail venison sausages are honey-glazed and served with wholegrain mustard mayo on the new snack menu.
You’ll find The Ickworth in Horringer, near Bury St Edmunds, IP29 5QE.
The Red Lion, Brinkley

Just outside Newmarket, The Red Lion is a traditional village pub with a focus on hearty British food and its local community. It’s a welcoming stop for a relaxed meal while exploring the surrounding Cambridgeshire countryside.
For National Sausage Week, they’re serving lamb sausages and mash, bringing another comforting classic to our Sausage Safari.
You’ll find The Red Lion on High Street, Brinkley, Newmarket, CB8 0RA.
