The exclusive Discover Newmarket Shadwell Stud Tour takes place on Wednesday 23rd May and Tuesday 26th June and will be a truly fantastic experience.
The tour will begin on the legendary Newmarket Gallops where you will be able to observe the strings of world-class thoroughbreds being ridden out in the morning light. Following this exclusive visit, you will then pay a visit to the yard of one of these famous trainers: Roger Varian. Training out of Carlburg Stables, Roger Varian is a Classic winning trainer with 14 Group 1 victories to his name and is quickly establishing himself as one of the leading trainers in Britain.
Once you have seen the racehorses in action, you will head on to Palace House where you will learn the science behind these spectacular racing machines. Not only will you find out about the breeding, but you will also be able to explore the history of the sport and how it has captured the hearts of Royalty, artists and shaped British culture.
After this it gets even more exciting as you will be taken behind the scenes at the aforementioned Nunnery Stud for a glimpse of what it is like breeding some of horseracing’s superstars. You will enjoy a tour of the facilities along with a stallion parade from some of the champion racehorses in residence including Mukhadram and Nayef. If you are lucky you may even see some of the mares and foals along the way!
