The first foals by European Champion Sprinter and triple Group 1 winner Bradsell have arrived led by a filly out of winning Iffraaj mare Lady Eleanor, herself a daughter of Group 2 performer and stakes producer Firenze.
“We are delighted with Lady Eleanor’s first foal by Bradsell” said breeder Jan Hopper, “She is a quality filly with plenty of strength and size, and as good a foal as the mare has produced.”
Bradsell’s outstanding racing career included a brace of Royal Ascot victories leading the field home in the Coventry Stakes at 2yo and the King’s Stand Stakes at 3yo. He came back at 4yo with an emphatic victory in the Nunthorpe Stakes at York before adding another Group 1 to his glittering CV in the Flying Five at the Curragh and a second on unsuitable ground in the Group 1 Abbaye at Longchamp.
A son of Tasleet out of the Listed-winning Russian Punch (Archipenko), Bradsell was renowned for his explosive speed and consistency at the highest level earning Champion status in 2025 before retiring to stud.
Anna Kerr, CEO of The National Stud, said:
“Bradsell’s temperament and tenacity are second to none. He had an excellent first book of mares with a high percentage of stakes performers and producers, along with multiple dams of 2yo winners.” said Anna Kerr, CEO of the National Stud. “It is fantastic to see the quality coming through in his foals, the future looks very bright for him.”
