Newmarket’s town centre is gearing up for a new family fun interactive trail this summer to help support the NHS as well as give families a safe reason to return to the High Street.
From 10th July, families and households will be invited to search Newmarket town centre for 10 cute and colourful MonsterHeroes. Using only smartphones, the Safari allows you to learn each of the MonsterHero’s names, story and superpowers. Once all 10 MonsterHeroes are found, a free e-book, that tells the story of their first team-up, will be unlocked. The Safari works by utilising contactless NFC technology and QR codes, without the need for players to download or sign up to anything, they simply need to tap or scan to play.
Over 150 towns across the UK are taking part in this initiative which has been sponsored by Wild in Art, with the aim of raising over £100k for NHS Charities Together.
As Discover Newmarket’s usual town centre guided walks have had to be put on hold for the summer we are delighted to be working with Love Newmarket to bring some new family entertainment into the town centre. With the popularity of trails, we really hope this activity will resonate with families looking for something to do outdoors whilst bringing footfall into the High Street.
With social distancing and other government safety guidelines in mind, there will be no need to enter any buildings or touch the windows. The trail is fully accessible and can be carried out at any time of the day from 10th July until the 31st August.
