Newmarket Destination Heritage

Set among beautifully preserved historic buildings, including a fully restored working windmill, Burwell Museum tells the story of a bustling fen-edge village.
Experience life in a Victorian schoolroom, mill and old village shop, and imagine wartime life in an original Nissen hut, complete with siren.
With vintage vehicles, historic farm machinery, forge, train display and traditional craft demonstrations and a 1970s telephone exchange to play on, Burwell Museum offers an amazing day out for families and anyone interested in fen village life in Cambridgeshire.
2026 sees the development of  our new Educational Hub to demonstrate climate change, bio diversity and renewable energy around Burwell along with an newly enlarged Tea Room.
