The Friends of Moyse’s Hall Present…
Edmund’s death at the hands of the Great Heathen Army is well-known, but what is less explored is the ongoing role that Scandinavians played in the medieval cult that developed around the sainted king. Initially cast as villains, what happened once the Vikings had settled in East Anglia and converted to Christianity? This talk will explore depictions of Vikings in a range of medieval written and visual sources from Bury St Edmunds.
