Join experienced tutor and well-known equine artist Nichola Eddery for a drawing day inspired by the work of Munnings, at the National Horseracing Museum.
Suitable for beginners and more experienced artists, you will enjoy mastering Nichola’s step-by-step approach to drawing the horse from the incredible paintings by Sir Alfred Munnings.
The day will involve learning the fundamental principles of drawing: line, shape, proportion, perspective, light theory, value, and shading. In the morning, you will learn the envelope and block-in stages to capture proportion, likeness and movement. After lunch, you will learn about light theory and how to capture the horse’s anatomical structure through shading. This intense masterclass will help you understand these concepts and enable you to achieve a developed horse drawing whilst capturing Munnings’ expressive style.
