EA Festival returns to Hedingham Castle on 10th and 11th June with an exciting line-up that features top creative leaders in literature, lifestyle, media, music, comedy, spoken word, art, history, philosophy, environment and more.
Known for presenting a true smorgasbord of topics and themes, the programme of EA Festival 2023 ranges widely – from Africa to avocados, and comedy to classical music. One of the main highlights of this year’s festival will be the session featuring Sir Mark Prescott, Newmarket’s longest-serving trainer and a racing legend with over 2000 winners under his name. Sir Mark will be interviewed by John Lloyd, the legendary TV producer who created Spitting Image, Blackadder and QI. Other speakers include V&A Director Tristram Hunt, Country Life Editor-in-Chief Mark Hedges, veteran BBC Four presenter Justin Webb and disinformation specialist Marianna Spring. The Saturday programme will culminate in a dazzling recital by 18-year old Shunta Morimoto, the current winner of the Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition.
For the first time, the Keep of Hedingham Castle, the best-kept Norman keep in England, will be converted into a performing arts centre with free concerts of musical theatre, soul/blues and jazz, performed throughout the weekend in the soaring double-height space of the Keep’s Ceremony Hall.
