Taste of Christmas

This Christmas, Newmarket Town Council is hosting its first-ever traditional Christmas market on the 14th December.

The town gears up for the big day with its first-ever German-style market which will be held in the Memorial Gardens on Saturday, 14th December, between 11am and 6pm.

Filling the air with the distinctive smell of hot mulled drinks, and decorating the path with twinkling lights, Newmarket Town Council will transform the gardens into a scenic winter wonderland. Visitors can expect to find a trail of traditional alpine huts selling locally sourced food and drink, handcrafted gifts, and a free magical carousel for children.

Guests will be spoilt for choice for food, as the market promises to warm up hungry stomachs with the choice of Bratwursts, mince pies, churros, and offers something for even the pickiest of eaters by delivering a festive twist on popular favourites like burgers and chips!

Entertainment will include candlelit Christmas carols sung by Newmarket’s Community Choir, surprise dance routines from local dance school T3, and professional fire dancers Divine Fire Show, who’ll be bringing the heat to the afternoon!

Finally, making a special appearance will be Santa Claus himself! He’ll be arriving at the Memorial Gardens with his helpful Elf in his brand-new wheelchair-friendly sleigh, making sure he’s easily accessible for a meet and greet with children on the day! For those wishing to meet Santa, he’ll be hosting a meet and greet between 11am and 1pm, and again between 2pm and 5pm.
