The Gesualdo Six – Morning Star

The Gesualdo Six return to the Lady Chapel at Ely Cathedral on Friday 7th January to sing a programme of music for the Epiphany season.

For centuries Christmas and the surrounding seasons have inspired composers to new heights of invention. This programme reaches across the ages, from the eternal beauty of the Tudor church right up to the twenty-first century, with each piece chosen to evoke a sense of mystery and joy.

Returning to Ely Cathedral to perform in the Lady Chapel, The Gesualdo Six take you on a magical musical journey through the ages and across borders, weaving well-known seasonal carols, such as The Three Kings by Peter Cornelius, seamlessly into highlights from the 21st century, including Joanna Marsh’s recent setting In Winter’s House.
