Get ready for a sizzling day of family fun as the much-loved Newmarket Sausage Festival returns to Market Square on Saturday 26th September 2026, from 10am to 3pm.
Celebrating all things sausage, this free annual event is back with its biggest programme yet. Visitors can enjoy a fantastic day packed with sausage-themed activities, live entertainment, an expanded selection of artisan food and drink traders, and delicious street food showcasing the very best local produce.

New for 2026 is the exciting Cookery Theatre, where talented chefs will demonstrate imaginative and mouth-watering ways to cook with sausages. From traditional favourites to creative new recipes, there’s plenty of inspiration for food lovers and home cooks alike.
Festival favourites also return, including the ever-popular Sausage Dog Competition, guaranteed to bring plenty of canine charm, and the legendary Sausage Pan Races, one of Newmarket’s most entertaining traditions.
Food enthusiasts won’t want to miss the Best Flavoured Sausage Roll Competition, while families can enjoy side stalls, themed activities and entertainment throughout the day.
