It’s the time of the year where the trees are changing colour and there’s a chill in the air. It’s also when the ghosts and ghouls come out to play on Halloween! Here’s a guide to all things hair-raising and Halloween that you can get involved in when visiting Newmarket this month.
Newmarket is one of the oldest market town’s in East Anglia and this is your chance to celebrate the build-up to All Hallows Eve with a series of spooky Ghost Walks and Ghost Hunts across the town.
Paranormal celebrities Ross Andrews, who you’ll recognise from Forbidden Histories, Great British Ghosts and Ghost Chasers, and CJ Romer -Sky’s Ghosthunters, Most Haunted Live! and Great British Ghosts – will be exploring Newmarket in events that will be sure to send a chill down your spine! These Ghost Walks and Hunts are for ages 16 and upwards.
Back by popular demand this year is the Children’s Halloween Trail which will take place on Saturday 31st October. This is a chance for the kids to get dressed up for Halloween and explore Newmarket while hearing stories of ghosts, zombies and the origins of Halloween. Don’t forget those pumpkin lanterns! Advance bookings for this event are essential and tickets are £1 per child.

On the 27th October, The Racing Centre will be hosting a Halloween Party with children encouraged to dress up and enjoy the afternoon’s fun! There are two slots available , either between 12-2pm or 3-5pm. Limited tickets will be available for this event at just £5 a ticket and the ticket includes a disco, a gift bag and refreshments. There are sure to be some spooky goings on at the Rowley Mile on the 23rd October as Newmarket Racecourse celebrates Halloween! From things that go bump in the night to creepy crawlies, pumpkins, witches, ghosts and ghouls, be prepared to have a spooktacular day with us and make sure that you come dressed for the occasion! There will also be special guided mini tours of the Rowley Mile led by Dracula! There will also be a prize for the best Halloween outfit on the day!

Not too far from Newmarket there are some other interesting ghostly goings on and events to get involved in as you go in search of a thrill this Halloween.
