Whilst it may be a while before we can visit our much loved eateries , we thought it was worth reminding everyone what fabulous restaurants and cafes we have in town as well as close by.
So starting with the first meal of the day, where would you favour for breakfast? If you like the help yourself, buffet style, then the Heath Court Hotel is the one for you. In fact as part of our new Taster Tours you can enjoy a hearty breakfast after a tour of the famed Gallops.
Moving to lunch, the Tack Room located within Palace House has a certain vibe throughout the day and into the evening but lunchtime is when it is buzzing, so well worth stopping by.
Nancy’s Tearooms has to take poll position for Afternoon Teas. With a selection of home made sandwiches and cakes, accompanied by a wide choice of teas, you are in for a treat. Presently, owner and chief baker Simon, is offering a takeaway service, so regulars can still have their afternoon fix.
Pre-dinner drinks or after work drinks are now only available at home but when we re-open you will find the Roxana Bar at the luxurious Bedford Lodge Hotel is hard to beat. The only dilemma is what to choose. What’s your favourite?
And lastly to the all important evening evening meal whether shared with family, friends or colleagues. From the exquisite Packhorse Inn at Moulton to its sister restaurant the Three Blackbirds at Woodditton you won’t be disappointed with the settings, food or service at either venue.
Or why not head in the opposite direction and try The Red Lion in Soham. Again you won’t be disappointed with the charm of this 17th century building or the beautifully presented dishes that are a mix of traditional dishes with a subtle modern twist applied.
A little bit further on from Soham and you arrive at the wonderful boutique Poets House in Ely. Here you are made welcome whatever the time of day and can enjoy your choice of food in either the elegant bar, the stylish dinning room or even alfresco if the weather is being kind.
For the ultimate takeaway, our ever popular Indian Restaurant Montaz is still open for pick-ups and deliveries so if you are missing your Jalfrezi, Madras or Tikka Masala classics then you are the lucky ones!
For more inspiration, visit our Eats section on our website and begin planning which restaurant you will go to first to celebrate once the lockdown has been lifted.
