The National Stud opens newly refurbished café – The Lodge

The National Stud has opened its newly refurbished onsite café, now named The Lodge, marking a further step in strengthening its visitor offer.

The National Stud is delighted to partner with Dandelion Catering in delivering The Lodge, which offers a carefully curated selection of seasonal food and drink within the distinctive setting of the stud. The approach is simple—quality-led, accessible, and rooted in the character of what makes Newmarket an international destination.

The Lodge supports the National Stud’s ambition to broaden how people experience and connect with the thoroughbred, offering an accessible, year-round destination for a wide audience—from local visitors, walkers and families through to clients and international guests.

Set within the grounds with ample free parking and access to the surrounding landscape, The Lodge offers a relaxed, high-quality experience in a unique environment.

“We are delighted to be re-opening The Lodge in partnership with Dandelion Catering who have such a strong reputation in the racing industry.” said CEO Anna Kerr. “The facility never really got going again after Covid and it was important to wait for the right partner to bring our broader vision to life. The Lodge will be a hub which celebrates our industry and the ideal space to gather, dine and relax in beautiful surroundings.”

The Lodge is open Wednesday to Sunday, from 8.00am to 3.00pm.

Guided Tours of the National Stud are available every Friday, Saturday and Sunday via our partner Discover Newmarket, with the café facilities making a perfect add on to the experience.
