This week we join our tourism colleagues and businesses across the country in celebrating English Tourism Week. This national annual event, running from 18th to 27th March, is organised by Visit England and highlights the importance, value and vast contribution that the tourism sector makes to the UK economy. Newmarket welcomes nearly 2 million visitors each year and the economic value of tourism to the town is in excess of £75 million.

Internationally renowned as the British home of horseracing, we have a wealth of experiences for visitors to enjoy. Without a doubt, the best way to find out all about this historic town is to book onto one of our guided tours. These experiences will take you to the hallowed training grounds, behind the scenes at a trainer’s yard, into some of the most prestigious studs in the country as well as into Tattersalls Sales Ring and the Jockey Club Rooms. Not forgetting of course the Races where we can provide a VIP experience by taking you into areas not normally available to the public.
However, you do not have to be a racing fan or horse lover to enjoy time in Newmarket. The town is rich in history and has strong royal connections that goes back centuries. So, a visit to the National Horseracing Museum or a Racing Royalty Walking Tour will provide you with a wealth of fascinating knowledge as you find out just how this relatively small town became the headquarters of British horseracing.
