You can’t go wrong with booking in for a nice lunch and have it all laid on for you while you spend quality time together. There are loads of options around town but you’d better make sure that you get booking as they’ll likely be really popular.
The Bedford Lodge Hotel and Spa are putting on a Mothering Sunday Menu in the Squires restaurant at £35 per person including coffee, tea and petit fours and the menu for this looks incredible. The dish on the menu that has mouths watering is the Newmarket Gin and Tonic Granita with fresh berries and baby mint as well as the Braeburn Apple & Puff Pastry Rose with vanilla Anglais and cinnamon ice-cream. You can also head to the picturesque village of Moulton and enjoy a delicious meal at The Packhorse Inn, a traditional pub that offers a five star AA dining experience. Their menu includes a two or three course option and has traditional favourites like British beef rump but also includes decadent delights such as Packhorse treacle tart, orange and vanilla jam, milk ice-cream.

Another option would be to head to The King’s Head in Dullingham for their Mother’s Day menu with dishes like Ox cheek & Tongue and Coquilles St Jacques to start right through to a traditional roast with all the trimmings, delicious fish options like Pan Roasted Halibut and delicious desserts.
Pop along to The Pantry, Fine Foods in the Guineas Shopping Centre for their delicious brunch. One of Newmarket’s firm favourites, the team at The Pantry are offering up their staples like Eggs benedict with Fordham Hamm, their Pantry Breakfast complete with famous Newmarket sausage while also offering up a couple of vegetarian options. Fancy a Buck’s Fizz or Bloody Mary to ease your way into Sunday and they’ll also be prepared with loads of sweet treats as well. Or you could pop down for a breakfast at the Wavertree’s Coffee Shop at The National Stud and enjoy the tranquil surroundings on the only commercial stud farm open to the public in the UK. You could even get mum onto a National Stud Tour, at 11am and 1pm on the day, to see the mares and their foals in the paddocks. Suits the theme of the day quite fittingly.
The Spa at Bedford Lodge have the perfect thing to do. Their Mum and Me Spa Day which will allow both of you to relax and unwind. Indulge in the heat and hydrotherapy facilities, use the steam room and sauna. The package also includes a Jessica Deluxe or Zen Spa pedicure.
